Executive Skills for Students
Frequently Asked Questions

HECK NO.

This program is designed for anyone who considers themself a student of any kind, who would like to gain or strengthen the mental and behavioral skills necessary for being effective learners and doers.
TLDR: You are welcome whether you have any diagnoses or not!
-
It isn’t a requirement, however the program is intentionally designed for teens and adult learners who are actively taking courses at a college, university, or another type of educational institution.
A similar intensive workshop is being developed for those preparing to take classes or just wanting to strengthen the specific skills covered in this program. Keep an eye on this website for that program to be announced within the next several months!

This program is designed for high school-aged and adult learners (no age cap!) who are actively enrolled in any kind of educational program, or planning to enroll soon.
You can expect once weekly sessions over Zoom, with no more than 8 participants (multiple sections will be offered to keep group sizes small). Each week will be facilitated by a coach with 20 years of academic coaching experience, along with a current college student who will be serving as additional support for in-session questions and help.
Each week, Jess will introduce a new executive skill that is crucial for strong academic performance no matter who you are or what type of student you may be. Each participant will have time in-session to learn and try out these skills. They will be able to immediately apply each skill to their real life when they leave every session, and review progress at the start of every following session.
-
Consider these the cherry on top of an already great program! Jess is so commited to your success and growth that she’s tossing in once weekly free 30-minute body double sessions, in addition to the weekly executive skills coaching sessions.
These sessions are an opportunity for each participant to meet weekly one-to-one with Coach Jess for additional hands-on support and extra time to work out needs that are particular to each participant.
Body double sessions are offered but not required. You can choose to schedule and attend all 10 body double sessions, to schedule only as needed, or to skip body doubling altogether.
This program costs $500, whether you attend all 10 or none at all. No discounts or refunds given for skipped or missed body double sessions.
Participants are expected to schedule their own body double sessions, but there will be ample reminders and instructions to do so throughout the program!
-
Each coaching session will be recorded and shared immediately with every participant, so you won’t miss anything if you can’t make it every week!
Connect with Jess directly about the possibility of sitting in on another small group’s session during any week you may have to miss.
Word to the wise: Watching recordings after the fact is often not as effective as attending things like this live, where you can interact as much as you need in the moment for what your comfort level allows!
You’re paying for the quality level of live, dynamic, interactive support. Make the most of it! If you’re really interested in this program, but timeliness and/or online focus is hard for you, don’t walk away. Reach out to Jess to set up some extra structure so you can make the best of this opportunity!

There is nothing preventing you or your minor from doing this. However, Jess strongly discourages this as a strategy.
More often than not, many of us with executive skills challenges make big purchases like this, telling ourselves we’ll be fine skipping the live sessions and watching the recordings later. But when it comes down to it, we never actually get through all of the recordings, if we even watch the first week! This leaves us with less cash but more frustration and shame directed at ourselves (Jess has a great deal of personal experience).
In short, we don’t like this for you :)
